I haven’t written a post for a couple of weeks. I’m sorry about that. Excuse? No excuse. Been focusing on upgrading, and redesigning this blog. It’s really exciting. Coming soon.
So, back to this blog…
Who are you? Why do you act the way you do? What runs your life?
Your beliefs is who you are and your beliefs make you act the way you do. You see your world through your beliefs.
With that in mind, the core beliefs that you hold, whether good or bad, will make your life your good or bad. If you have good, pleasant beliefs you will have a good and pleasant life. If, on the other hand, you have bad, dire beliefs, that’s how you will see and live in your world.
If you’re not happy with where you are now, it makes sense to address your core beliefs.
Would you like to change a belief right now?
Think of something, anything, that you believe to be so. I always use the example of ‘the sun will rise tomorrow’. Now, with that thought of the sun rising tomorrow, think more about the picture that you are seeing of the sun rising; think of the colours, or is it black and white? Notice any sounds; loud or soft sounds? What feelings come up as you picture and hear the sounds?
Make a mental note of the picture, sound and feelings.
Now move on and do the same thing for something you don’t believe. The best example here is ‘all politicians are honest’. Repeat the same process as before. See the picture, hear the sound and note how you feel. Observe how your mind represents this belief.
You now have two beliefs to evaluate and compare; one belief that is true for you (the sun will rise tomorrow) and one that isn’t (all politicians are honest).
Get a notepad or a piece of paper and quickly write down the different qualities; compare the two and write down what you saw, heard and felt. For example, when you thought about the sun rising you may have felt warm, yet when you pictured the politicians being honest, you may have felt cold inside.
Now that you know how a true and not so true belief works you can make full use of that. You can now empower the beliefs that you want and also weaken those that you don’t want.
That’s the great news. Want to test this out?
Think of something that you want but have been unable to get. Pause and notice what surfaces. Did you have the same pictures, sounds or feelings as when you thought of the politicians?
Go back to the belief that the sun will rise tomorrow. Allow all the pictures, sounds and feelings to emerge. Once these qualities appear, immediately direct your thoughts to the thing that you want.
You will note that the belief to this thing happening has become more possible that before. Why? Because you’ve merged a present core belief with one that you consciously want to believe.
The change in belief may not necessarily be too quick – depends on what it is that you ant – but rest assured that soon you will have what it is that you are seeking, or at least you will find yourself actively pursuing what it is that you want.
Why? Because your new belief gets stronger and stronger as time goes by. As surely as you believe the sun will rise tomorrow, you will believe that you can get what it is that you want. The belief that the sun will rise tomorrow is more powerful than the belief that you cannot have what you want.
Try it out and let me know how it worked for you.
