Go Ahead and Make Mistakes!

… and gain more confidence.

The sad truth is that most of us are hesitant to start anything new; like starting up on our own, venturing into a partnership, applying for a new job, all because we are afraid that we might fail.

To those people, I say: Go ahead anyway, make mistakes and learn from them! That’s how you will gain that extra confidence.

It’s not necessary to wait until you have all the experience and knowledge required. There will always be something more to learn. By saying, “I’m not quite ready yet,” you are procrastinating. Yes, it is a form of procrastination. And it is also fear of failing.

How will you gain confidence if you shy away and not take the bull by the horns?

Be ‘good enough’ and go ahead. You don’t have to be ‘excellent’ to start.

Think about this: You don’t have to be good to start, but you have to start to be good. Now that’s the clue to gain that confidence that you needed.

You may never have enough experience to start. But once you muster up the courage to take that first giant step forward and start, the rest will fall into place.

Start now with what you do know. You will gain confidence along the way.
