I asked an edgy client a direct question, “Do you think you set goals that are beyond your capability to achieve them?”
“We are supposed to set high goals, aren’t we?” she replied.
“In your opinion, do you believe you can achieve the goals you set for this quarter?” I repeated.
“I don’t believe so. They are rather high, I must say,” was her quiet response.
I don’t believe… Such powerful, disempowering words.
For you to set goals, whether large or small, you have to believe that these goals are achievable and that you believe in yourself that you can take all the necessary action to achieve them.
A lot of people are held back from any chance of development in their personal or professional life by not believing in themselves. By repeatedly saying I don’t believe they remain where they are.
On the other hand, if they believe in themselves, in their strengths and commitment, and in the goal, they can take small steps every day in the direction of attaining the goals. With each successful step that they take, they gain more confidence in themselves through added belief that attaining the goal is in fact not only possible but very close to actually manifesting.
Set small goals and believe that you can achieve them. Remember, small achievements lead to bigger achievements.
What small goal do you believe you can achieve this year?
